When you arrive, your PlayaWay Reps will take you around and show you the best
places to eat and drink. We don't want you spending all your money in the first few
days so your Reps will show you the cheapest places to shop and ensure you get
"workers prices" in the clubs and bars. This is what your free PlayaWay Neck Strap
is for
Here's a few points to remember before you go:
Passport
Don't forget your passport! You might think that it is the easiest thing to remember but you'd be surprised how many people forget it! Check it is in date and that you have 1 year left.
Money
Travellers cheques are the safest way to carry your money however all major credit and debit cards are accepted in the cash machines (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, etc.) It's a good idea to let a family member back home be a signatory for your bank account. In emergencies you can transfer money using Western Union. Note: Cash machines do not show your balance in your account so it is a good idea to set up internet banking so that you are not spending your money blind!
Electricity
France has the same voltage as the U.K. but you will need plug adaptors. You can buy them here but if you are the kind of person who needs their essential appliances as soon as they land, you will need to pick up a 2 pin European plug adaptor before you leave. (Useful tip from a girl to all girls alike - if you have GHD straighteners you will find that the plug unscrews to reveal a European plug already waiting! Amazing!)
Drivng Licence
If you plan to drive in France, you will find that some hire companies ask for you to be over 21, sometimes 25. If you fancy wizzing about on a scooter or even a quad bike, don't forget to bring your drivers licence!
Be Prepared
Email yourself important info - flight details, insurance policy number, passport number, travellers cheques numbers and important phone numbers. Make photocopies of all your paperwork and leave them at home. When you're here, don't carry large amounts of cash - always use the safe in your accommodation and lock your suitcases whenever they are unattended.

Probably the biggest secret in Chamonix's vast expanse of skiing is that is has great learner areas. Everybody associates Chamonix with James Bond and Olympic racers not nervous first-timers. Chamonix's valley's are excellent for beginners. Visit the ski school (Ecole de Ski de Chamonix) to find out how you can make the most of your time on the mountain. The first thing to remember as a beginner is that every single skier and snowboarder was once a beginner too.
TRAVEL INSURRANCE
Insurance is compulsory on all PlayaWay Abroad ski holidays. We recommend that you take out insurance to cover all activities. When you arrange your own travel insurance please ensure your policy covers all Optional extras like slope rescue. We strongly recommend cancellation and baggage coverage also.

Vegetarians or any food allergies
Simply call us and we will ensure that the Reps take this into consideration when preparing food. There is a small fee for certain allergies as the replacement food can sometimes be expensive.
